We define a software metric tool as
tool for modelling and determinating the metrics of software development components referring to the process, the product and the resources.
The software development process also includes the preparation of the software components and the process of evaluation. Therefore we regard tools for the support of software measurement as a group within the set of metric tools. They are understood as
tools for model-based software components analysis, metrics application, presentation of measurement results, statistical analysis and evaluation.
As a conclusion we use the notation of Computer Assisted Software Measurement and Evaluation (CAME) tools. Figure 5 demonstrates the integration of CAME tools in the software development.
