Application domain: interpretation of measurement results
Description:
Although SOFT-MESS [Sftm94] can be used as stand-alone application for the management of a project's measurement results its main purpose is to serve as a metrics data base for SOFT-AUDITOR. The measurement results are organized in a data model consisting of three main components:
- project data (development, maintenance, reconstruction)
- resources data (personnel, hardware, software)
- product data
- software sytems for the requirements analysis, the specification, the design, the data and program modeling
- documentation (for the developer, for the user)
The data model supplies the foundation for the extraction of all relevant characteristic values such as the error rate during development and maitenance.
