Application domain: process evaluation

Description:

SQUID M-Base [Kitc89] portrays the overall situation of software projects in a data base collecting information about development attributes, process metrics and measurement results. The data is organized on three levels:

  3. components representing the development environment
Four main functionalities for the manipulation of the data model are available:
  • definition and modification (Calibration)
  • measurement of project attributes such as effort, development time, quality considerations, project size and milestone characteristics (Calculation Set Up)
  • Utilities for model structure reports, model backup and the translation of the measurement results for similar projects.
  • data administration and evaluation (Data Handling)

Special features:

  • Data base with interfaces to different software platforms (FoxPro, EXCEL, Lotus 1 2 3, Microsoft Graph)
